Amelco Industries Ltd is one of the first industries in the south-eastern Mediterranean and Middle East area to supply most of the mattress producers with the necessary raw materials and machinery for the manufacture of innerspring mattresses. The company's objective is to continuously strive to improve the final mattress product and act as a partner to its customers by supporting their bedding needs. Today, our machinery is used by more than 60 companies across 5 continents.
The company is established in Nicosia, Cyprus, originally as a raw material manufacturing firm for innerspring mattresses. Bonnell spring units, coir fibre (coconut) pads and cotton press felt were the first items to be produced
1972
Amelco moves to new wholly-owned facilities of more than 5500m2
1984
Polyurethane foam, polyester wadding, pillows, needled felt and cotton wadding, are added to the company’s product list.
Amelco becomes the leading raw materials supplier not only in Cyprus but also in the region, with its success and reputation being based on the high quality and service standards associated with its name. In parallel, the exports of the company have been constantly increasing, with 70% of the company's output being exported to customers mainly in the Middle East.
1985
The Machinery section is added, offering new and reconditioned second-hand mattress machinery. A wide range of quality machinery for the bedding industry is designed and built solely within the company’s premises.
1990
Amelco designs and constructs its first Rollpack machine firstly with the intention to satisfy its own innerspring exporting needs. Other machines, such as Pillow Filling, Mattress sealing and Flat Spring Balers are added in the list of machinery.
1995
A tendering section is added in order to participate in tenders taking place in Cyprus and abroad.
1998
Amelco designs and constructs its first Frame forming machine for flat steel strip.
The company participates for the first time as exhibitor at the Interzum Exhibition in Cologne, Germany and continuous until now ever since.
2003
Amelco participates for the first time as exhibitor at the Interzum Exhibition in Moscow, Russia
2006
The company participates for the first time as exhibitor at the ISPA Exposition in Baltimore, USA
2008
Amelco sells its 100st machine, as well as introduces the pre-compression Roll Packing machines.
